Will I need a root canal after my dentist exposed the root during filling?!

Question: Will I need a root canal after my dentist exposed the root during filling!?
At a dental visit, my dentist exposed the root of a tooth while drilling a cavity!. He said that he covered it up quickly, but that it was quite large!. He said that when they are that large, they will most likely require a root canal!. Anyone have any thoughts!? If a root canal is needed, how long before it is needed -- a couple days, weeks, years !?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I suspoect you mean exposed the nerve!.

If this is the case than yes you need a root canal!. The reason is once the nerve is hit, it is damaged!. It will not repair itself, also bacteria rush in there and star the inflammation process, again more nerve damage, and again the nerve can't repair itself!. If left untreated you may develope a tooth ache until all of the nerve dies, eventually the tooth nerve will start to rot and the abscess process starts!.

This can happen if there was deep decay to begin with!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

well the same exact thing happened to me, a root canal takes 2 separate procedures!.
To save yourself $1,000, go to the first part of the root canal, this will cost about $45 (your co-pay)
then your dentist will ask you if you want to make another appointment, tell him that you think its unnecessary!. And your tooth will get covered with a basic filling, unless you want to get a crown, which is like $500!.

good luck

if it was exposed due to his own mistake you really shouldnt have to pay for it he messed up he should offer it for free!. However, if your cavity was so close to the root then he shouldve said a root canal would be needed in the beginning!. Do it sooner if you wait it out a hole in your tooth will collect food and germs pretty quickly and can cause problems and may even need that tooth to be extractedWww@Answer-Health@Com

Same thing happened to me and the dentist told me I would need root canal!. He said the sooner you do it the better but it can be put off for a several months if you need to but less than a year!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You'll need the route canal immediately or your tooth will bleed and decay

Also, your cat is dying!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My thoughts are:

Dude, if you need a crown or anything like that, pray you have Dental Insurance!.!.PZ OUTWww@Answer-Health@Com
