Question: I want to get braces!?!?!?
I want to get braces but my mom keeps saying you will and stuff!. Does it really take that long just to set it up all up!. though she probaly hasnt even been doing anything!. anyways how much do braces cost and does it hurt when you get them!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

1 You do NOT want braces!. Trust me!. I used to want them too and I ended up having them for 5 years!. It really sucks!. You can't chew gum!. You constantly get stuff stuck in them!. I was soo happy when I got them off just last month!. Also they hurt a lot when you first get them and you can't chew anything!. I'm not saying they're HORRIBLE if you need them!. I'm just saying you shouldn't get them for no reason!.
2) It doesn't take long if you do get braces!. You have to wear spacer for a week(those things that go in between your teeth) and when you have those you can't chew anything hard or popcorn or anything!.
3) braces cost a lot!. my complete orthodontist treatment has been over 5000 dollars!. I'm not sure how braces alone cost!.
4) It's not like OWW the whole time!. But when you get them like the first week it does really hurt then you get used to them!. I remember I couldn't really eat anything for a week because they hurt a lot but you can take a motrin or something and it will help the pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is pretty uncomfortable when they put them on because they are pulling your teeth in a certain direction, it also hurts a bit for a few days after each time you get them tightened - when your teeth are still getting moved around!.
I had braces for a year and a half, they were tightened every 6 weeks, and after about 10 months they stopped hurting when they were tightened, because then they are just keeping them in place not pulling on them!.
If you do end up getting them, once you get them off make sure you wear your retainer though, or else they move back to the way the were before you got braces - then its wasted money!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

omg you do NOT!!! first of all, i had them once and now i have to get them BACK ON!! its really suxx! 1st of all you cant eat anything that is crunchy, chewy, sticky, hard, or sugary which narrows it down to!.!.!.!.!.!.um like nothing! really, how do they expect you to survive!? anyhow, yeah, they cost a lot so really listen to the rules and dont play with them cuz they'll break and your parents will be ticked they have to pay extra!. it doesnt hurt as much when you GET them as the next day!. they will put them on super tight so your teeth feel like they are being sqweezed by a lemon-juicer and you cant feel your gums!. dont run your tongue over them a lot cuz chances are some of them (at least at MY orthodontist) get a bit lazy and leave a wire hanging out a little and then you get a cut tongue!. use the wax, it sux to taste but it works and it sooo smooth!. dread the day you have to get them retightened (which is every ortho appt) and totally hate/love the day you get them off! it feels like they are wrenching them off with a fricken pair of pliers and then they attempt to take the glue off with some kind of freakish drill/saw and they file down your tooth! hurts really bad but after it is soooo worth it!. after you get your braces off i really really reeally really really suggest you get a dentist appt and have your teeth clean!. then brush your teeth all the time and you'll have pearly whites!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Do you WANT braces or do you NEED them!. You can't get them if you don't need them, but if you do need them, yes!.!.!. there is a process!. Orthodontists have to wait for a perfect time to put them on!.!.!. I don't know how old you are but I think they try to avoid putting braces on kids under 11 or 10 because their teeth aren't fully developed!. Also, braces are very expensive!. Your mother may be figuring out some finances!.

You think you want braces until you actually have the suckers filling twice the space of your mouth, making your teeth kill, and breaking wires off that dig into your gums and keep you in pain for weeks!.

You set an appointment with an orthodontic specialist and you get the ball rolling!. Depending on your insurance, you may need a referral from your primary dentist!. The ortho may need to get the ok from the insurance!. It costs anywhere between 3-5 grand!. FYI don't bother with the invisaligns (spelling!?) they are still visible and much more expensive!. ew why want braces!? lol if you teeth are bad i understand i had mine too but now their off and i couldn't be happier i hated them so much i wanted to rip them off myself lol!. but retainers aren't much better lol

i didnt like my braces!. they are fun when you first get them on, but then your teeth start hurting and stuff!. it took them like 2 hours to put it on, and it costed in the $1000 for me!. but all in all, my teeth look pretty good!. you feel so great when you get them off and you look at your teeth!. theyre really nice!. so good luck!.!.=)

ok they can cost anywhere from 2-6 thousand depending on the problem with your teeth!. you'll have a few appointments before you get your braces, probably for about 1-6 months depending on how busy the ortho's office is at the time!. It hurts to eat until you get used to them!.

Are your teeth separated to much!? Does the dentist say that!? If he does, then you'll probably have to get braces!. Braces aren't for decoration and don't get excited because some braces are very nerdy looking!.!.!. It depends on how good your teeth are in the first place!. I had expanders, which added $2000 dollars to the fee!. There are also different types, glass, clear plastic, metal, etc!.
Mine were metal and were $5000; total = $7000 not including other fees!.

My mom did the same thing, and I waited about 2 years before they started doing anything!. Braces do hurt a little when you get them, and it depends on how bad your teeth are for the cost!.
