Question: Girls who have had braces on their teeth, a little help please!.!?
I am taking my almost 11yr old daughter to an Orthodontist for an assessment!. It looks to me only her top teeth need fixing but who knows!. She is really positive about it so far!. Any tips, questions I should ask or any input from you gals who have them on now and who have had them off recently would be appreciated!. By the way she has had no fillings so far and is in Grade 5 and this will give her 2 years to have them on until she starts high school!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

As an orthodontist myself, it's better to ask your orthodontist the special things for your daughter's dental needs!. This could include suggested dental care tools (to which I reply get the 'Waterpik/Interplak by Conair'!. It's use is to clean plaque and other things by using tools to shoot water forcefully up in hard to reach places!.) and scheduled checkups and tightenings!. Please have your orthodontist explain all brushing and flossing techniques!. You must never forget the dental wax, which limits the sores from happening!. Just apply it to your daughter's brackets or braces!. Ask your orthodontist to explain it!.

I was really positive until i got in the chair to have my teeth took out to have the brace and it all dawned on me and i started to cry and then my mother came and held my hand and said that wouldn't you like straight teeth and told me that the needle is just like picking up one strand of hair and tugging it on it and i stopped crying and i really wanted it done

tips:
1!. make sure her teeth are really clean before you are applying!
2!. make sure she brushes while they are on, very important if you dont want yellow teeth with white square marks!.
3!. ask for wax if the braces rub on the inside of her lips!.
4!. tell her they look great!
