Question: Dry Socket medication (the brown stuff) is not working! And Im in pain!!?
Ok guys I have dry socket!. The oral surgeon told me this!. I went to them on Fri!. (the day after the surgery) and they put that brown gross stuff in it and that was it, felt great and then I awake on sat with pain again I went back and they did the same!. Only this time they gave me the brown junk so I can do it myself!.
Now !.!.!. my problem is!. Its one week since the surgery, and I still have unbearable pain ( I'm running out of pain killers, which are not even effective) and now I have a smell and taste of brussels sprouts coming from the area!.
Im quite honestly more concerned with the pain, as I have not been able to sleep or eat!. Please DDS's give me a idea of what to do in the mean time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Wash it gently with warm salt water and keep using the dry socket medication!. You need to see your Dr or Dentist asap in case it has become infected badly in which case you will need antibiotics!. The pain can last up to 3 weeks but it's a good idea to have it checked especially because of the taste and smell!.

i had bone spurs too, and im still healing
its been4-5 weeks
otherwise they wanted to cut it open take the bone spur out, and clean it out and stitch it back up,
so i was on pain meds for 3 weeks
i was on antibiotics twice

FYI,
pain from a dry socket is the worst, and other than visiting the dentist for regular dry socket paste placements there's little you can do!.
Try witching pain killers to ADVIL 3-4 PILLS EVERY 4-6 HOURS This will take the edge off the pain, but won't eliminate it completely!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

What is the brown stuff he is giving you, cloves!? If not then go to the spice section at the grocery store, buy some cloves, and mush them up and put them in the hole!. I had that when I had my wisdom teeth removed and it worked wonders!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
It is clove oil, however you need antibiotics, you may have an infection, not just dry socket!. Rinse after each time you eat, ice, pain reliever and antibiotics!. Good luck to youWww@Answer-Health@Com
