Question: What to do after a tooth is pulled!?
My husband had his top wisdom tooth pulled around 6 hours ago, but the bleeding has not stopped!. He has gone through lots of gauze pads, and none seem to be helping!. I'm starting to get concerned, but I don't know if this is normal!. What can we do to make the bleeding stop!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

My bleeding didn't stop til the next day (24 hrs), he'll be fine ;)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Usually a simple tooth-pull is quick to heal!. For the first half hour or so, all you need to do is press the gauze to your gum [by biting on it], and it should be fine!. whatever you do, don't rinse it out because that will cause it to bleed again!. just wait until the bleeding stops and then be gentle around that area!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

make sure when he has the gauze pads over the hole where the tooth was that he is putting pressure on it!.
fold the gauze up and get him to bite down on it to put pressure on it!. and make sure he keeps pressure on it!.
if that don't work you might want to call your dr!. when I had one of my back teeth pulled it didn't take that long for it to stop bleeding!.

I hope he gets better soon!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

bleeding due to extractions can sometimes go on like in ur husband's case!.!.firstly, i hope he does not have any medical condition!.!.!.i hope u have told ur dentist that!.!.cos that rules out many factors of bleeding!.!.
secondly, bleeding can be prolonged in case if there was any infection prior to extraction!.!.
what u need to do is apply ice cube on his cheek from outside!.!.do not disturb the wound!.!.ask him to bite on a cotton+gauze piece!.!.pls do not change it frequently as it will disturb the wound!.!. ask him to hold cold water in his mouth for some time!.but he shud not spit it forcefully!.!.for the same reason!.!.if the bleeding does not subside in some time pls call ur dentist!.!.he'l administer a vasoconstrictor or other clot forming materials!.!.
i assume the dentist did not give sutures!.!.it is very important that ur husband does not create pressure in his mouth like for example drinking with a straw, coughing , sucking on ice etc as that can dislodge the clot formed and can lead to a dry socket!.!.he needs to eat a soft diet !.!.!.i hope the dentist has given u the rest of the information !. dont worry!.all the bestWww@Answer-Health@Com
