Going to the dentist - HELP?!

Question: Going to the dentist - HELP!?
Ok,now like most,NOT a fan of dentists!.I used to have regular checkups and never had a problem, then at 17 i had my braces on for around 16 months!.I'm 20 now so it's been over a year since my last visit because honestly i simply forgot since my teeth have alway's been ok!. Now i have 1 little gum that has become a little enflamed and bleeds when i brush or knock it and i know i have a little tartar on the back of my 3 front teeth not loads but it's there!.Thing is i am so embaressed to go to the dentist,(i have made an appointment to a new dentist which my mum registered at and say's their great) and show her my teeth!.I don't have bad breath and my teeth are really clean all but my problem!. I know they've probably seen worse but how can i feel so silly!? It's a daft question i know but it's only dentists that make me feel faint!.I watched my sister have a tooth taken out and i nearly collapsed! LOL it's so annoying,i'm fine everywhere else!.What to do!? Anyone else been like this!? Some happy thought's might make me feel a little better LOLWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Everyone apart from a small percentage get tartar at the back or there lower front teeth, this is because you have salivary ducs there that pump out your saliva which contains minerals, it then attatches to the sticky film which produces on your teeth which turns to plaque and then goes hard to tartar!. you can also get this on your upper 6 teeth because you have saliva ducts there on your cheek side!.
Your bit of gum is inflamed because its unhealthy!. when you clean you teeth make sure you clean at you gum line, if it bleeds, ignore it! just keep cleaning it!Www@Answer-Health@Com

not happy but hopefully will give you determination!.
My teeth were fine, I 'forgot' to go to the dentist for 6 or 7 years, then one day I felt one of my molars moving, went to the dentist and I had some sort of infection or bacteria all over the place that was eating my roots!. I had some sort of gum surgery and cleaning and luckily it's all good now, so !.!.!. just go :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Oh my gosh, me too!. I am so scared of the dentist, and the smell makes me want to faint!. I always am petrified I'll get a cavity, but I don't!. Well, so far!
Don't worry, as long as you brush daily and floss, you'll be fine!. Also, I have the same thing with my gums sometimes!. It goes away fast!.
GOOD LUCK!Www@Answer-Health@Com

just tell your self to stop been silly because( and im sorry if this offends you) but you are!. its a dentist, they see a hell of a lot worse than an en flamed gum!. people have realy bad breath, gum decease, holes in there teeth and all sorts of other things!. just like your doctor they expect to see all sorts of things!. but what you've got is not that bad!. just go you will come out there and think "what the hell was i been so scared for!!"Www@Answer-Health@Com

You will have your teeth cleaned by the hygienist, then you will be given advice on your dental hygiene!.You feel nothing at the dentists these days, its only afterwards after extractions etc!.Do not worry, your mouth is sparkling compared to some of the things they see!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
