It may take on the color of the listerine, but doing that just once shouldn't really cause any problems - just don't do it again!.

In general however, you shouldn't be soaking your retainer in an alcohol based mouthwash like listerine because over time it will damage it!. The alcohol will break down the plastic and it can also "etch' or scratch your retainer leaving it a cloudy color!. You also shouldn't use a tooth brush on your retainer for the same reasons!. Get a denture cleaner like polident or efferdent, etc, instead!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well the Listerine i left my retainer in was blue, so my retainer turned blue but tasted really minty! The blue eventually wore off after a couple of days!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
