Toddler who grinds her teeth...uuuggghhh!?!

Question: Toddler who grinds her teeth!.!.!.uuuggghhh!!?
My three year old daughter grinds her teeth at night!. It must be genetic because I do it and so does my mom, but it is so heartbreaking to hear your little one do it!. Any suggestions on how to get her to not grind her teeth in her sleep!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
my son is 9 and has been grinding his teeth since his toddler days!. Hubby and I have tried everything to get him to stop!.I was told a few times by his Ped and Dentist that it is a child's way of relieving tension, stress or energy!. Neither has recommended a night guard for him yet!. I'm still waiting on him to grow out of it!. I wouldn't worry unless you child is complaining of headaches or pain in her jaw!. My son never has had any problemsWww@Answer-Health@Com

Most young children grind their teeth at night!. Truly, no one really knows why!. My pet theory is that it's the brain's way of developing chewing patterns as the teeth come thru!.
There is no significant damage done!. In 25 years I've never seen a child who needed intervention because they ground their teeth too much!.
The use of nightguards or splints is ill advised, even if you could get a child to wear them!. They serve no useful purpose, and may even distort the growth of your child's jaws!.
Why is it heartbreaking!? The child is in no pain!. All it really does is interrupt your sleep, not theirs!. Get some earplugs if you must do something!Www@Answer-Health@Com

This is very sad because there really isn't anything you can do!. There are teeth guards she can wear to prevent it but at her age it may be dangerous and she would prolly not be willing to keep it in her mouth through the night!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Um!.!.!.!.!.!. no!. Get over it!. All kids do it at one point!. They'll grow out of it!. And as far as it being "genetic", psssh!. Read up on toddlers!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
