Medical question about super numero teeth and female hormones link?!

Question: Medical question about super numero teeth and female hormones link!?
7 years ago I grew an extra small tooth behind my top left wisdom tooth!. It really hurt like I was teething and took a few months to come through!. By coincidence, for the last 7 years I have suffered from depression and anxiety leading to a nervous breakdown!. I have recovered from the breakdown, but around my period I get so hormonal and anxious "my head swims and I get this incredible tension that leads to a panic attacks"!. Then incredibly 2 months ago the tooth had a growth spurt again!. It was painful all through my gums but is now settled down!. The dentist xrayed it and it is fine and not interfering with my other teeth!. But the horrible tingly hormonal feeling seems to have gone as well!. It is like I am a new person!. I feel stronger!. Could the two have been linked at all!? I have been trying to do some research on it via the web and have come up with nothing!. How else can I find out!? I am 43 and have never taken any medication for my conditions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Development of the actual tooth finishes before the tooth erupts into the mouth!. There may be a few changes to the root within a few years of the tooth erupting, but after 7 years it is almost impossible that any growth is still happening to the tooth itself!. Nobody really knows what causes supernumary teeth, but it's probably something genetic rather than something that is triggered!.

Hormones DEFINITELY play a role in your periodontal health, or health of your gums!. This is probably what you were feeling!. Wisdom teeth are notoriously hard to clean (which is why a lot of dentists like to extract them to prevent problems), so a tooth even further back is likely to be even harder to reach!. This makes it susceptible to plaque buildup, which causes irritation to the gums!. Even when your oral hygiene is good, hormones can cause an exaggerated immune response to local factors like plaque, which results in inflammation of the surrounding gums!. That's probably why the gums around the tooth hurt!.

A good site to look for information is www!.pubmed!.com!. Here you will find published research papers and public access to the summaries, or abstracts!. Skimming through them could give you an overview of what's known!.

If your dentist took an x-ray and everything was fine, then you definitely don't have any problems like the ones the above poster suggested!. I won't get into the specifics of what those conditions actually are, but they are totally unrelated to what you seem to be describing, so you shouldn't worry!. An extra tooth is just an extra tooth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

This one has too answers and you sort of fall into one!. hormaone do play a role in development, but this is during development, there is point where the no more teeth develop and hormones dont play a role!. My point is that if you are in the fetal stage of juvenile stage hormone can play a role it can influence the tooth bud amay be cause it to geminate producing a supenumenray tooth!. But the formation of tooth buds usually stops!.

It sort of like when a girl is born they are born with a certain number of eggs after which point she makes no more eggs!.

What could be happenig is something else in you case!. In the jaws at times lesions occur that are similar to teeth and these called odontomas, and cemetomas!. perhaps this is what is going on in your case and these can be influence by hormones!. Try researching odontomas, cemetomas, cemotoblastomas, osteomas,, and see if anythig sound familar to what is with you and if any thing resembles what is seen on your x rayWww@Answer-Health@Com
