Question about whitening teeth when about to receive crowns?!

Question: Question about whitening teeth when about to receive crowns!?
Right now i have temporary acrylic crowns and i am about to receive porcylin crowns in a few weeks!. I have to go to a another place where they will match the shade of my teeth to create crowns that match!. The problem is a want to whiten my teeth a little bit, either by brushing more or getting them done professionaly or by using crest white strups or something i havnt decided!. But the problem is i dont want to be stuck with my front fake teeth being less white because i plan to make my teeth whiter and i know that you cant whiten fake teeth!. What are my options!? should i just tell the shade matching people to just make teeth that are a few shades whiter!? How much would it cost to later remove the permanant crowns in order to replace them with whiter ones after my teeth are whiter!? What are my options!? Any advice!? Thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You would be much better off having your teeth whitened first, then have the crowns done/shade matched!. If you are still in temporary crowns, you can keep those for several weeks or even a few months depending on how well they are made!.

Like the other person said, if you have the final crowns done and try to whiten your teeth afterwards, they may never match; and if you were to redo the crowns just to have the shade changed, you would probably be charged full fee again (or I can't imagine your dentist would redo them for free)!.

The fastest/easiest way would be to have your teeth whitened by your dentist, since s/he can do it in one day, then wait a week or so and have the shade matched, then have your final crowns put in!.

Your other teeth over time will probably get a bit darker and the crowns will not, but you can always do some touch up bleaching later if you need!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you want to lighten your teeth tell them to make the porcelain crowns a lighter shade, it will cost the same amount you are paying now for the crowns to get new ones made!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well if you are getting new crowns typically you would whiten first!. However if your dentist already took impressions and ordered them from the lab then they are going to match the shade that your teeth are now so if you were to whiten your crowns would be darker!. If he didn't send out for them yet you would whiten then have him pick a shade using the new shade of your teeth after whitening!. Crowns do not whiten so if you do it have it done professionally so it lasts at least 1 year!. With The at home kits you will have to bleach constantly so all of your teeth match the new crowns which cost about $1350 here in NJ!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
