How long can do I have to wait to chew on a tooth that had a root canal?!

Question: How long can do I have to wait to chew on a tooth that had a root canal!?
I had a root canal done on my front tooth, 4 days ago, and believe me it's hard not being able to chew food using your front teeth! It's not as tender as it was, it feels 90% better, but the problem is there's a temp filling in there until i can get the permanent one in, in 2 weeks! I'm afraid of it falling out!. But like I said it's very hard not to be able to use your front teeth, and should I wait the two weeks or go ahead and eat soft foods slowly using my front tooth!? Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

This depends on how big the temporary is!. If it is just a small temp only on the back you should be able to eat!. But if a large chunk of your tooth had a cavity then if may fall off and lead to contamination of the root canal that was done!. The other thing you can do is play it safe, and cut your food!. the front teeth are used for cutting into the food, and the back ones are for chewing so if you say have an apple cut it into bite size pieces and chew it with your back teethWww@Answer-Health@Com

I had that done too!. Wow, what pain! when they shoot you with numbing medication, it hurts!. Your eyes start to water like crazy!. I would just try eating soft foods for a while and chew slowly!. When I had this done to me I had to eat slower and softer, and I was amazed how much more I tasted the food!.

I know what you are thinking!. You are thinking that you will eat something and your temp!. filling will come out and the food will get in there and cause pain and bacteria and they will have to do it all over again, right!?

It will be ok!. Just relax and eat softer foods and chew on the back teeth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
