Dead nerve causing sharp pains?!

Question: Dead nerve causing sharp pains!?
Around four years ago my Dentist was doing filling in my teeth, and a year later my tooth cracked and apparently the nerve died [the lateral inscisors nerve],blablalba, one thing led to another and then this year I had a root canal, so now I have a rod stuck up my gums to hold my tooth in place so it doesn't fall out!.

Anyways, I was eating food tonight [using the left/right side of my mouth, not the front], which eventually made my mouth 'tired', but i kept eating anyways!. Then all of a sudden I had this sharp pain in three places; the back of my head, where [i'm assuming] the dead nerve is nearby, and just below the corner of my eye [the corner closest to your nose]

So does the dead nerve/rod up my gums have anything to do with these pains!? Or am I just crazy lol!. If it does, what should I do about it!? I'm not sure if I have a kind of gum disease, but if I do, could that be causing this!? How can I get rid of it!?

Any help/sympathy is appreciated :[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[Www@Answer-Health@Com

FYI,
have a dentist evaluate this tooth for a root fracture extraction may be the only optionWww@Answer-Health@Com
