Due to marital abuse, I had to get upper denture. I can't stand them, pls hel!

Question: Due to marital abuse, I had to get upper denture!. I can't stand them, pls help!!?
Even after permanent alignment, I have to use Fixadent every time or they just fall right out, though my mom's suction right on!. If you don't have them, imagine a contant feeling of something hard and plastic 1/2 the size of your mouth constantly aware that they're there! A fund for abused women in same situation paid for them and I know I'm lucky but I just don;t get people who say that they 'love them'!. That's total bull****! When I'm home, I just don't wear them! There's no one around, and I don't WANT to put them on just to go out of the house!. It may seem petty to you but you are not in my situation and if you are, tell me!.!.!.how am I going to get used to them if I am CONSTANTLY AWARE of them!? Should I complain to the dentist that my mom's fits like a glove while mine doesn't!? Oh, and for you yound punks who think that this will NEVER happen to you, think again!. Yes, I'm angry AND hurt that I'm fated to wear them and hate them everyday for the rest of my life!. Any suggestions!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was just visiting my sister who has full dentures!. She says her top dentures fit very well but her bottom ones do not, and therefore she always leaves the bottom denture out when she's at home!. But she did say that she had to go back several times before she got the top one adjusted right!. I think that's what you're going to have to do!. Maybe somewhere down the road you will be able to get dental implants!. But they are very expensive and I know I would never be able to afford them!.

I am so sorry for what happened to you!. You didn't deserve that!. I hope life will treat you kind now and you will have peace!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Return to the dentist and see if they are able to do anything about it!.

I also think in general though that you need to seek councelling through the women's refuge!. Your anger is misplaced, as while you have every right to be angry after what happened to you, you do not have the right to be angry at strangers who you are asking for assistance!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Is it possible to go to the dentist and have them 'adjusted' to fit and feel better,,,,if not go to the dentist and see what they can do to make them more comfortable!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My mama had her upper teeth extracted because, like so many people, she thought it would be better to have false teeth than her natural ones, which were "giving her too much trouble!."
Well, the first whole month of wearing them was excruciating for her!. She had to go back to the dentist several times to get them adjusted, but now they are fine and she is able to wear them all of the time!. (She is now regretting she had her teeth out though!.)
You may just have to keep going back and getting adjustments until they are comfortable!. I agree with you that people who want to do this voluntarily because they think dentures are "less trouble" than their natural teeth should really reconsider!.
I am so sorry about what happened to you and it sounds like there are people who care for you and are helping you!. (((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't know if this would be feasible for you, because it is very expensive, but if you have the $$ implants may be a possibility!. You can have several implants placed and bridges between them!. Or have implants and a denture that snaps onto them so it stays in place!.

Try not to compare yourself to your mom!. Everyone's denture fits differently, especially depending on the shape of your palate!. Some people just do not have a palate that allows good suction!.

The bare minimum implants would cost you to replace several teeth or to have an implant denture made would be about $10,000-15,000!. I know that's expensive, but if you have the $$ it would fit a lot better!. If not, try going back to the dentist that made the denture!. Sometimes it takes several relines to get a good fit!. If you recently had the teeth extracted your bone will be constantly remodeling for months if not years, but it will eventually level out!. I hope everything works out for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
