Put to sleep for tooth extraction?!

Question: Put to sleep for tooth extraction!?
I have a tooth that I think may need to be extracted!. I'm not sure, but I have an abscess on my gum that I think is going to lead to the tooth having to be taken out, because the tooth has had a lot of work done on it before!.

However, I have had so much work done on my mouth that I am terrified of the dentist now!. I absolutely hate it!. If I ask, will they put me to sleep for a tooth extraction!? And does anybody know the cost difference, how much more I will have to pay!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Yes!. Yes they will!. They call it twilighting!. Sometimes they just use an IV type drug and sometimes they use gas!.

The abscess can be treated if its an infection!. They usually prescribe anti-biotics and if you have a Publix pharmacy in your area, anti-biotics are dispensed at no charge!.

The twilighting and other anesthesia can be pricey though!.

I would try and go for "save the tooth" rather than pull it!.

BTW -- I have had a cracked tooth for 2 months now and it was infected with an abscess!. Its been nursed and I could not afford having it ground down and crowned, and I could not afford to have it pulled!. So the anti-biotics worked so far and I just obsessively keep it clean and floss it all the time, picking everything away from it!. Sooner or later I will save up the cash to treat it!. But right now there's no money for a crown and the dentist is not very forgiving at the moment!.

You should also get a 2nd opinion!. So far the pricing and the procedure has been looked at a few times so I know its about right, or at least I guess all the dentists in the area charge the same!. But yes, it can be very painful to think about but not really as painful when they just shoot the gums up and get in there!. Its just the thinking about it that hurts the most!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was put to sleep, but I had 6 teeth to pull!! lol talk to your dentist, I am sure they will work with you on that so you will feel comfortable!. I do not think that it is too pricey, I am not exactly sure how much, but I talked to my dentist on payment plans, and they gave me a dental credit card that I make monthly payments on!. Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Not all dentists will put you out!. You'll have to call around to find one!. I have no idea of the cost difference!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
