Will my doctor prescribe antibiotics for a tooth abscess?!

Question: Will my doctor prescribe antibiotics for a tooth abscess!?
I am currently away at college, so I don't have a dentist readily accessible, plus I see the doctor free and get prescriptions cheap here because I have school health insurance!.

I have a tooth abscess I believe, and am going to see my doctor first thing next week!. Can she prescribe me antibiotics for it, or will I have to see a dentist!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Depends on how bad the abscess is!. She can prescribe you an antibiotic but it is up to her if she will or not!. She may give you a week of antibiotics and tell you to make a dental appointment or she may just tell you to see a dentist!. It all depends on what she wants to do!. Some Dr's won't overstep their bounds!. Is she a GP!? It really is all up to her!. If you see her often and she knows you very well she will probably give you the antibiotics but if she rarely sees you she probably won't!. No way of telling for sure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You will probably have to take antibiotics!. If they pull or work on an abscess tooth there is great danger that the infection will spread through your body in the blood!. Check with your parents about if you are covered with a dental insurance!. Your school Health services can get you referred to a good dentist!. Do not let this continue!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
