when i got my braces off (and i had headgear too), it kind of ached - like when you get your braces tightened and adjusted!. i was given a retainer too and so the teeth had to adjust to that!. i wouldn't say it hurt like a ***** - more like a dull ache and after a day or two of aspirins it was goneWww@Answer-Health@Com
Don't worry at all!. I've had them twice, and both times were fine!. I think it primarly depends on the dentist/orthodontist but if you havn't had any pain with yours yet then you should be alright! It's not really meant to be painful either :) Good luck and don't listen to those people!Www@Answer-Health@Com
