Going to the orthodontist can be scary, because you do not know what to expect; I think it is this fear that is the most painful - most doctors will tell you now up front what you can expect!. I would say that orthodonture tends to be uncomfortable at times, and it is a part of growing up; you can do this- just focus on what the end result will be - beautiful smile and teeth!. When I was growing up, many children did not have this priviledge, and would have crooked teeth, cavities etc; so if your parents are having you do this, it is because they love you and want what is best for you -
I find praying helps me, and asking God to be with me when I go to medical and dental visits, it helps to take some of the fear out, knowing that I have a friend who cares so much for me!. Ask questions, and I will tell you, it has come a long way in making the process more comfortable and easier!. I would lie if I didn't say there was never any pain; but it is something you will grow from; there is pain in life, and taking it in these small ways will help you grow as a person!. If you know in advance that you will have discomfort, ask your mom if you could have some tylenol or aspirin before hand, and try to relax - that is the most important thing you can do for yourself; is breathe; it makes it believe it or not, easier and less painful if you can do that!. Hang in there, and focus on the end result; I was really happy when I had more dental work out - I have a beautiful smile to this day, because my parents cared to give me that gift!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I got my braces at the begininng of november and they hurt the first week but not SO much that you can't eat at all!. just be careful not to bite hard on anything because that can REALLY hurt!.

You may be a little sore after wards and need to eat softer foods for a couple of day, but you will get used to it!. It's not as bad as you think it will be!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
i had mine put on thursday and the first few days it hurt but now i am better!. you will be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
