Answers:
The actual removal of the teeth should not hurt if you have been given adequate anaesthesia!. Unfortunately, this means a few needles which do sting!. Most dentists use a numbing ointment on the gum first to take the pinch off injections!. It is usually applied with a cotton roll and left for a couple of minutes to soak into the tissues and slightly numb the point of injection!. Once numb, the dentist will either section your teeth with the drill and take them out in 2 pieces or just gently work it free with forceps!. All you should feel is pressure, not pain!. Sometimes there can be some cracking noises as the tooth is removed and it does sound terrible but don't panic!. It always sounds worse than what it actually is!. Once the tooth is removed, your dentist may use some sutures to slightly close the socket or you will just have a gauze pack put over the hole to stop any bleeding!.

If you are extremely anxious about your treatment, let your dentist know as they may be able to offer you some pre med or happy gas if they have it!.

The discomfort you may experience afterwards will all depend on why your teeth needed to be removed and how easily they came out but most patients find that if they have any discomfort, it can be managed with either panadol or nurofen!. If the extraction was difficult, your dentist may even prescribe stronger pain relief such as panadine forte!.

You should call your dentist to discuss any concerns you may have before your appointment so they can possibly lay to rest any of your fears and you don't lose any sleep over your proceedure!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Im a really nervous patient at the dentist and have been through a lot believe me! But In August I had a bad tooth ache and ended up going to hospital where they just gave me antibiotics! I was due a filling but was waiting for over a year that's why I was in so much pain!.Then I went to an emergency dentist later that month thinking they would just fill it or something but she said I needed either a root canal or the tooth taken out and I thought I will just have it taken out(thinking they would book me in for another date!) but then they put the injection in my gum and took it out then! They give you the injection to numb the area and then pull it out-you cant feel it and after when the numbness goes you may have a slight pain but take some iburopen and your be fine!. Last week I had another filling and had the injection and they took ages putting the injection in me but I thought of all the people in the world who are going through so much worst things and all im having done is a filling or tooth taking out and then it will be over and I be okay, think like that hun and then your be okay!.
Good luck and your be fine!.

i had one out and it was the worst pain ever and im not joking!. did not stop bleeding after either!. had to have 2 seperate doctors comme through coz the first one was not strong enough and i had 5 injections!!!

but a reason for this was abonormal tooth, the tooth usually has 2 'prongs' going down into the gum to keep it there, but mine had 4!!! the dentist's said they had only heard of this in there medical books, but never ever came across it, came across 3 but never 4!.

so just hope u aint got 4 like me!!! Www@Answer-Health@Com

The dentist is there to help you not to hurt you!. Be brave! He'll numb the area!. Wiggle the tooth back and forth!. Pull it out!. You should rinse your mouth with warm salty water to heal it!. You'll notice space where the tooth was!. But you;ll get used to it!. Good Luck to you!Www@Answer-Health@Com
