Question: Im really really scared to get braces!!!?
Im getting braces on the first day of Winter Break [dec!. 20] and im so so so scared and nervous!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try changing your thinking!. Be thankful that you have parent(s) who care about you and are getting attention for your teeth!. Be thankful that they have the money to do this!. Millions of young people wish they had your opportunity!. Think about the mess your mouth would be if you did NOT get braces!. Think about how embarrassed you would be by your teeth and how that would impact your life!.
Usually we are scared because we don't know what is going to happen!. For the orthodontist, braces are his or her routine work, but for you this is strange new territory!. Even if you are a kid, you have a right to know what is going to be done to you, and you have a right to know ahead of time!. But if you don't tell the adults in your life, they won't know that you are worried and need information!.
Talk to your parents!. Ask to talk to the orthodontist BEFORE they do the braces!. And know that millions of kids have gotten them and they are still around to tell about it!. Ask some friends as well!.

how old are you!? how long will you have them!? i had them for almost 2 years!.!.!. i got mine off this october!. i was nervous too when i got mine!. they will be a bit sore for a few days, ask the orthodontist which pain killer is best!. they told me one time that i shouldnt take ibuprofen because it reduces the swelling and actually makes it more difficult for the teeth to move into were they are supposed to be!. you probably wont be able to bite or chew well!. i ate a lot of soup, mashed potatoes, and apple sauce lol!. but most of the time they are fine!. i would say the discomfort is worth the end result!.
its a bit of a hassle when food gets stuck, so just be sure you are carrying a little mirror around :)
and soo many people have them now that no one will make fun of you or anything, dont worry about that!.
you will get used to them pretty fast and they will be fine!.
just keep thinking about how your teeth will be perfect in the end!

Ah, don't be scared or nervous about getting braces!. You're going to get straighter teeth in the long run :)!. Your teeth are only a little sore after each adjustment, and of course sore when you first get them on!. They take a little while to get used to!.!.!. It's no big ticket, though!.

Don't worry braces dont hurt when you get them on in my opinion!. They didn't hurt when I got them off either!. It's after that they will be touchy and may bother you!. But the only thing that bothered me was when they tightened my braces really hard!. Otherwise you should be good if your teeth aren't SUPER bad!. Dont be nervous:)Www@Answer-Health@Com
Don't worry about it!. I had them twice; it's really not that big of a deal!. The only times it gets a tad bit uncomfortable is when they're first put on and occasionally when they're adjusted, depending on how much work you need to have done!. If you're worried, have your parents reschedule until after the holidays!.
Look on the bright side - they've got all sorts of colors/effects in the bands these days!. I've seen glow-in-the-dark bands, sparkly bands, etc!. Might as well have fun with it!

dont get them then!! have your parents change that date to january!. You will be in pain for christmas!. Trust me!. Dont get them then!. Your teeth will be sore on christmas!. How can you eat all the delicous food on christmas eve/day!.!. i lived on kraft mac and cheese for the first 2 weeks i got mine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Don't be a wuss!. lol jk!. Everyone feels that anxiety!. It won't even be that bad and you might even look good with braces on!. Take pain killers a few hours before the appointment!. I did and I barely felt any pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
