Mouth guard and braces?!

Question: Mouth guard and braces!?
I got braces about a week ago and I need a mouth guard for girls lacrosse tomorrow!. I bough one of those special braces mouth guards, but it doesn't stay in my mouth!. I also tried different sizes, cause I'm 13!. Can I use my old mouth guard and just reboil it!? Or is that bad for braces!? Practice is tomorrow so I don't have time to ask my orthodontists!. Please help Www@Answer-Health@Com

i got a mouth guard from my orthodontist and it is kinda big but she said that since your teeth move a lot it works good!. Ask your orthodontist for one!. You can re-boil the old mouth guard but your teeth might be in a different position!. Hope this helps :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had the exact same problem because I play field hockey!. My mom bought this mouth-guard designed for braces: it's unmoldable and very gummy---it's perfect!
The mouth-guard is made by ShockDoctor and you could probably get one at a sports store!.

P!.S!. The one I bought does not attach to helmets (not sure if that is necessary or not, but it might be handy!?) but I'm sure they make them if you need one that attaches!.

P!.P!.S!. The custom ones from the orthodontist are CRAP!. They're like hardcore plastic--very uncomfortable!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes you can!. It won't fit well but you can use it for a few practices!. The orthodontist or your dentist can make a custom mouth guard to fit with your braces!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you can use your old mouth guard for awhile, but go to your orthodontist, and have them make you one to fit over your braces!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
