Usually upper wisdom teeth are fairly easy to have out and to recover from!. Having them out shouldn't slow you down much, you might be a little sore afterward but it won't hurt during the procedure!. Don't plan on doing anything the day you have them out - especially if you are going to sleep!. You'll probably still be taking some motrin/advil the next day, but it shouldn't keep you from going to school or having a driving lesson!. If you're taking stronger pain meds the next day such as vicodin/hydrocodine than you'll need to reschedule, but most people don't really need prescription drugs for upper wisdom teeth!.

As for having your braces on, a week later is sufficient time to heal before having braces on!. You will still have holes there, it takes nature 4-6 weeks to fill in with bone and tissue, but you'll defiantly be comfortable enough to get your braces on - especially since those sockets are way in the back of your mouth!. If you still have concerns after your wisdom teeth are removed, give your orthodontist a call and they can answer your questions or reschedule if needed!.

Best of luck! =D

You should probably call your orthodontist and find out if they think you should have your braces placed so soon after getting your wisdom teeth removed!. I would tend to think two to three weeks would be more comfortable!.

Getting the teeth removed is not usually painful because you're either numb or you are asleep!. Though you will probably be fairly sore for the next two or three days after that!. Most people probably would not be up for a driving class the next day!. Also, if you are taking any pain medications such as Vicodin, he should know that it is illegal to drive while taking those (you can get a DUI)!.

Take care!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
