Why is part of my gum above one tooth swelled up? It doesn't hurt at all, th!

Question: Why is part of my gum above one tooth swelled up!? It doesn't hurt at all, though!.!?
I've had a nasty cold for a two days now!. This morning, I was brushing my teeth when I noticed that the gum right above one of my top canine teeth was noticeably swelled up!. It almost covers the top of my tooth! There is no pain or tenderness, but it turns white when I put pressure on it!.
Yesturday, I remember that same spot bleeding when I brushed my teeth, but it was normal; no swelling!. I have braces, but it isn't like the sores that you sometimes get because of the brackets or wire poking!. Those hurt!.

What is going on and should I have my mom take me to the dentist!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
are you brushing too hard!? are you using a soft bristled tooth brush!? Some people brush way too hard with very hard toothbrushes and that can irritate your gums!. Also, it could be something serious like an abscess!. Or it could be a particle of food has gotten stuck under your gum!. I would rinse with mouth wash, brush easier and if it gets worse or does not go down in the next few days i would make an appointment with the dentist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You might have something stuck between the gum and tooth, It can be as small as a tomato seed!. Initially the gums react and accumulate white blood cells to repel it, If true it will increase in size and when it does come out, normally while brushing it will also produce blood!. Gum ailment is the most common cause of tooth loss so you need to get on a good hygiene program while you're still young!.

Also, if you're going to get a new bike, look at the Hybrid road bikes!. Your dog will thank you!.

It sounds like it may be infected or at least severly irritated!. I would call and describe it!. They will let you know if they want to see you or if it is anything to worry about!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It could be just because of your recent cold and inflammation in your body!. Or it could be the beginning of gum disease !.!.!. if it keeps up you definitely need to see your dentist!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Thats what happens whenever I scratch the roof of my mouth or my gums, maybe your toothbrush is too hard, it could be poking the spaces with the gum between your teethWww@Answer-Health@Com

You could have a little infection without pain!. Yes go to your dentist so he can check it out before it gets worse!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Maybe you need to go to the dentist if it starts bleeding non-stop and it hurts when you apply pressure but it sounds like to me you will be just fine!.!.!.!.!.I get those all the time!. I went to the dentist and had a sore like that and he said i may just have scratched it on food or burned it with something!. Don't worry about it but if you think you need to have it checked out don't hold back!
P!.S!. Apply some Orajel to it that will make it stop swelling and suck on some Ice! (you can get orajel at Wal-Mart,CVS,The local Drug Store, Walgreens, Rite Aid, and,or, Food Lion!)
HOPE IT HELPED!
