Question: How Much Does It Hurt To Get Braces!?
I'm probably going to get braces soon because you can pretty much fit the edge of a silver dollar in between my two front teeth!.My friend just got braces and says it hurts like hell!.Does it really hurt that bad!?I cant really take pain at all

Honestly, the part of getting them on is the worst part!. then after that its the first few tightenings then the rubber bands!. It really depends on your pain threshold i guess, but they are not that bad really!. and the outcome is great!. good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
The very first day you have enough pain killers in your system that it doesn't bother you that badly- the second day, your teeth feel VERY sore, and sensitive to touch!. But it is tolerable!. You cannot eat solid foods for maybe two days afterward/
I would suggest Extra-Strength Excedrin for the pain!.
The first day you only get the top row put on!. The second row hurts less than the first- it isn't that bad-
I would suggest taking pain killer before your appointments-

Ok, to be honest: it does!. BUT, its not THAT bad!. I had braces a few years ago, and I survived!. I would say the first week is when its "painful", but after that its ok!. The pain is from the discomfort, and thinking about it too much!. Lol!. I had to go once a month and have my braces "adjusted", and that was usually a little uncomfortable, but only for that day!. And after the first few months of having braces on, I didn't even feel them anymore, I got completely use to them!. So for the first week, I'd suggest softer foods, aspirin/tylenol, wax (your orthodontist should give you some and you use it to cover sharp/rough spots rubbing or poking your mouth; I never needed to use it but it is helpful to some people) and just trying not to think about it too much!. the first time i had them on it did hurt but you get used to it and it only hurts for a couple of days and then the pain will go also the more you get them tightend the less it hurts but all you have to think of it will be well worth it at the end !!

It depends on different people!. I am probably the biggest baby you'll ever meet but they didn't hurt me too bad!. Getting them on it doesn't hurt it's just uncomfortable!. You'll probably have some pain after!. Take advil before you go in to get them!. I had a huge gap between my two front teeth and they slowly moved it in and now it's gone!. Getting braces hurts a lot! I dont have braces @ this time but a lot of my friends do, and most of them couldn't eat for a whole day after they got them because they hurt so much!. But, after a few days they won't hurt so much! :-) Your braces will probably hurt when you get them tightened aswell!. Hope this helped! Good luck with your braces!Www@Answer-Health@Com
when you first get them on, it will hurt!. You can barely eat!. But it does get better after a few days and it is SOO worth it in the end to have straight teeth!. its different for everyone though!. When i got mine, i could barely eat liek ice cream!. But when my brother got his, he could eat carrot sticks! it was crazy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Braces really are not as bad as everyone thinks they are!. They really only hurt for about four days!. Of course the first day will hurt the worse, but over all they are no big deal!. Take some Ibuprofen and I promise you will be fine! On the bright side, you'll get a lot of milkshakes :DWww@Answer-Health@Com

But, if you take some kind of aleve or something similar as soon as you get braces on the pain won't be as bad!.

It will only hurt a pinch! I already have them and it was pretty easy for me! They just rub some sstuff on your gums that would make your mouth feel numb!

Your mouth will be sore for about a week or less!. It will be really hard to chew food!. Your mouth will get use to braces within weeks though!. THrough my experience bottom braces hurt much more than top braces!. Dont be sacred!Www@Answer-Health@Com
