Question: WHY WOULD THE DENTIST GIVE ME BRACES WITH NO WIRE!?
So ok I just got my "braces" put on by western dental orthodontics and they said I needed spacers!.!.since i had a bit of crowding, which is fine, however, they applied the brackets even the colorful bands BUT NO metal wire that actually goes through the brackets!?!?!!! They told me to come back in 2 weeks to put the wire in!? So I tell them I will be out of state and wont be back until JAN 1st due to the holidays and they said "OK just come back JAN 5th and then we'll put the wire in" WHY did they make me pay 50$ down FOR NO REASON THEN!? I have brackets with NO wire which means the process of straightening my teeth hasnt even started!! TO TOP IT off i followed all the after instructions and ate soft foods AND THIS MORNING ONE OF MY BRACKETS WAS ALREADY OFF!!! I couldve swallowed this!! I am very disappointed in these people!. IS THIS NORMAL!? AND WHY WOULD THEY NEED TO WAIT 2 WEEKS BEFORE ACTUALLY PUTTING THE WIRE IVE NEVER HEARD OF THAT!!

Hmmm!.!.!.the spacers make sense as they are doing their own job now; but the only reason why I would think they put the brackets on now and not the wire was maybe a convenience thing for them!. Maybe they had the time to put the brackets on then so to save themselves time later they decided to do it when you were in the chair!.
The other option is they have a good reason but maybe they did not inform you as to why they did this!. As a patient you have the right to ask!. I would call them tomorrow not only to ask this, but also to let them know a bracket fell off!. This is certainly not ideal, but I'm sure it happens from time to time!.
Sometimes with dental procedures involving glue, if any saliva at all gets in the way whatever they are putting on won't stick!. Was this bracket towards the back of your mouth where it's usually harder to keep the surface of your tooth dry!? This is all just guesswork!.!.!.I'm in the dental field, but not orthodontics!.

I really wouldn't know why!.
I got my brackets and wire put on the same day but the rubber bands around the bracket like 3 months later!.
But it's normal for the brackets to fall out!.
This will happen once in a while!.
Just keep it in a safe place and take it with u to ur next ortho appointment!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

call them immediately!. that is pointless, and why couldn't they put that brackets and wire on ALL on jan!. 5th!? thats stupid call them and tell them why you are mad, and go into their office and demand to have them put on!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I called my friend who had her braces done, they put the brackets on first and allow time for them to "set" before they mess with putting the wire on, I guess to stabilize it!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
I was wondering the same thing im getting braces but my friend is getting the bracets then she has to go again to get tha wire!.!.!.!.i guess maybe because the weight or your not used to it or something idkWww@Answer-Health@Com
