My dentist messed up my tooth - what do I do?!

Question: My dentist messed up my tooth - what do I do!?
I went to have a filling done with my dentist last week!. Later that evening I went to brush my teeth and that tooth was Super Sensitive!. It felt like something was exposed!. The next day I called the dentist and explained how my tooth felt so they scheduled for me to come in later that day to have the dentist check it!.

When he did he told me it was alright and nothing was wrong with it and to rinse with salt water!. So I haven't brushed on that side for the past 4 days to see if the sensitivity would go away; today I brushed up against it with my tooth brush and it's still the same!. What do I do!? My dentist doesn't think there's anything wrong with it!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like your filling is to high meaning that he has to much of the filing in the cavity!. After you get a filling they check you bite but a majority of time your still numb and it's hard to tell them if you feel discomfort!. Call you dentist and ask him if he would check you bite again if he refuses to I would go for a second opinion!. After a while it will ware down on it's own but you will be in discomfort until then!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is possible that the dentist didn't do his job right but it is more likely that the nerve is right at the filling and as a result the tooth is super sensitive, it may take some time for the nerve to settle down!. If you are extremely concerned get a second opinion, but if you can give it a couple of weeks to see if it settles down!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I feel your pain, same thing here!.If it helps, it took 6 months for my tooth to feel right after being filled!.I must have went back to my dentist a half a dozen times!.!.!.!.!.!.!.I thought he was crazy!.But now it is all better and feels fine!.!.!.!.!.!.Dr told me give it time, it will settle down and it did!.!.!.!. My dentist also told me a large filling, will take time to feel less sensitive !.!.!.!.Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't risk it, just get a second opinion!. If the dentist will not admit he's made a mistake, then he shouldn't be treating you in the first place!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
