It is not too bad! They will numb you with a shot(two if you are blonde or redhead, at least my doc did) and it is not bad at all!. all you will feel is a little vibrations on your teeth and you will be numb afterwords!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Relax! I am a huge giant baby when it comes to pain!. Last month I went to the dentist, and I was told I had 6 cavities, ALL BETWEEN MY TEETH!. I had 0 cavities before, and now all the sudden I had 6!

Anyways, I got them all filled in 1 visit, took about 2 hours!.

The worst part is the numbing shot!. They first numb the area with a numbing gel, then they give you the Novocaine shots, it feels like a prick then some pressure, it sucks but it does not hurt that bad at all!. After that, I swear to you, you do not feel a dang thing!. I was so afraid that I would feel the drilling, but I didn't, I only heard the drill, I didn't even notice she was drilling!. After they drill, they put the white composite stuff on the hole they drilled and then use a special light to dry it, that's all!

Throughout the whole thing she kept asking me if I could feel anything, I kept saying "Nope!", cause I didn't feel a dang thing!. Occasionally, since I had 6 done in one visit, I would feel a slight sensation, but no pain, and I'd tell her and she would just give me another sucky shot and then no more feeling!

The numbing is awesome, LOL, I kept touching my tongue and face afterward and I couldn't feel it, it was bizarre!. And my smile was crooked which was kind of embarrassing, but getting a cavity filled is super easy! And if you didn't catch it in the beginning, yes, all my cavities were between my teeth!. That's what I get for not flossing!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've had all kinds of cavities filled and helped fill all kinds!. Generally you will be taken to the room, they will lay you back in the chair and then inject your gums with fluids that will numb you!. the doctor will leave for a little as you freeze and then will come back!. He will drill out the cavity, put in the metal or composite materials, shape it and then get you to test the bite and make sure everything feels just right and then you are done!. The worst part of the experience is different for everyone!. For me it is the ache afterwards the next day at the injection site if the needle was in the back jaw!. For some it is the sounds and others the smell!. I also hate being numb still and being hungry and not being able to eat!. In general the freezing will last about 3 hours and after that everything will be back to normal!. It's not scary, just unfamiliar and if you want you can ask the assistant to explain things to you in detail and ask questions during the time while you are waiting for the freezing to take effect!. Nothing hurts during the filling and if it does let the dentist know so he can freeze you up more!. Good luck with your appointment tomorrow!.!. try to get a good nights sleep and have a quick snack before the appointment!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
