Question: Do the little black dots on a tooth DEFINITELY mean there is a cavity!?
i haven't gone to the dentist in a while - im scared!. my sister takes wayy better care of her teeth than i do and she got one cavity yesterday!. i am going to schedule my appt with the dentist soon but i am getting so worried!. i have little black dots on 2 of my upper back teeth and i don't know if that signals a cavity or just a little "beware and start brushing here" sort of thing!. i've had little black dots before on the lower but they seemed to go away and i don't notice them anymore as much!. none of my teeth hurt and i haven't had any problems ever (not that that matters)!. please please help!. i am so scared!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

No -- little black dots don't necessarily mean you have a cavity!. That's why the dentist uses that hook-shaped pick -- he scratches at the black dots to see if they scrape off!.

Don't be scared!. Even if you do have some cavities the worst that happens is that you get fillings!. That's uncomfortable but not as uncomfortable as a bad sunburn!. Instead, take this as a warning to make an appointment with the dentist!.

the black dots usually mean that is a cavity!. You need to look and see if there is a tiny hole there!.!.!. if so, then you have a cavity!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
