Question: What can cause inflamed, swollen, red gums overnight!? (please see details)!?
Please don't just say infection!. I didn't do anything the night before that would have given bacteria any special opportunity to cause trouble !. (And yes, I know that there are always nasty bacteria present in the mouth!.)

Could any sort of gum disease present so abruptly!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I agree; I think "Miss Nursie Nurse Nurse Kay" was totally rude in her answer!. I'm a nurse, too, and I wouldn't answer like that!. You seem like a very intelligent person and I'm sure you know how to take care of your teeth!.

I'm going to go with what "Jess" said about a possible allergic reaction to something!. It could be any number of things from a food or drink to a med!. And it's possible that you could have a virus bug that is no fault of your own!.!.!.just picked up through the air, like a cold!. This has happened to me as well, and I practice good oral hygeine and see my dentist every 6 months!. I couldn't figure out what is was and my gums were even sore!. But it was very short-lived and went away within a couple of days!. I wish I could tell you what might be the cause, but I just wanted to comment that you aren't alone!. I hope it heals up quickly!.

(And when I used Listerine it seemed to make it worse!. That might have been the culprit in the first place!. It's very harsh!.)Www@Answer-Health@Com

nope, no gum disease shows up suddenly, but long term poor oral hygiene will eventually erupt in swollen gums!. You need to floss and brush after every meal, or eventually, your gums will become swollen, sore, and infected!. It's gingivitis to start, and will progress to pyorrhea if you don't get it taken care of!. Suggest you see an oral hygienist, most dental offices have one, so you can learn to take better care of yourself and get any necessary treatment to clean up your current problem!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

there is a form of herpes that can appear in the mouth like that!. its not an STD thing though!. it just happens!. you should call your dentist thoughWww@Answer-Health@Com

Maybe an allergic reaction!? Have you taken any meds or been around any chemicals!? Its a possibility!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
