No no no!. You didn't have a panic attack at all, so don't worry!. What you felt is a rush of epinepherine into your bloodstream!. It is completely normal!. I'm a dental assistant and I see people do this daily!. We use a local anesthetic called Lidocaine (you can google it if you want) and it has the epinepherine in it!. It causes the heart to race and for you to feel extremely anxious for about a minute, like you said!. Then it all goes away!. It's just something that helps speed up the process of you getting numb, that's all!. So there's no need to fret about it at all! :) Hope that helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, it sounds like you had an anxiety/panic attack!.

In addition to you probably experiencing some anticipatory anxiety, the local anesthetic may have contained epinephrine, which is basically adrenaline -- adrenaline is the core physical cause of a panic attack!.

For future dental treatments, be sure to alert the dental assistant and dentist when you schedule that you may have had a panic attack in the chair (you nor they want this to get worse) Ask the dentist specifically for Lidocaine (sp!?) which is a non-epinephrine local anesthetic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My worst panic attacks were happening in the car!. It started like that and it lasted almost 5 years!.
Now i can drive far away out of my old safety zone laughing to myself alone in the car and enjoying it like i never did before!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i think so!.!.!. :D

but, to make sure, ask your doctor, let them know of the reaction of your body to that particular anesthesia!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

wow, jeez, cant imagine that!. i mean, no offense but, how could being at the dentist do that!? are you afraid of something specific he/she does!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
