Ya, it will be numb for a while!. It should wear start to wear off in an hour or so!. If not, you should call the dentist that preformed the root canal!. You should take some pain killers as soon as you feel it wearing off, even if it's wearing off a tiny bit!. It will hurt pretty bad!. You may not really feel like eating once you feel the pain!. Don't try to eat now because you could be biting on your cheek and doing damage and you won't even feel it!. If you're hungry you could get a shake!. Eat soft things at first so you don't have to chew like soup, mac and cheese, or mashed potatoes!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends on how much lidocaine your dentist had to use!.It is supposed to last anywhere for 3 to 8 hours!.The numbness may be annoying but at least you aren't in pain!.I hope you took your pain killers!.If not make sure you do before it does wear off!.And yes you can eat, it might feel a bit akward though!.Good luck!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

This is normal!. You can eat, but you may drool a little bit on yourself !. lol!. Wait another 2 or 3 hours !.
