Question: Is this unprofessional!?
My dentist leaves the door open during my visits!.
A few people walk by the door and glance in during!.
It makes me feel a little uncomfortable and it seems unprofessional!.
I'm almost 15, and my mum comes into every visit, so I don't see why he doesn't shut the door!?
I normally don't mind about this stuff but it just seems odd to me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Does your mom stay with you during the whole visit or just come in for the end report!?
If your dentist is male he may keep the door open in case a patient accuses him of abusing or molesting them!. An open door can help prevent a patient from falsely accusing him of abuse!. Doctors are currently being burdened with an enormous cost for malpractice insurance!.
Your doctor may be amenable to a closed door if your mother stays with you during the whole visit!. Personally, I would keep the door open for safety reasons!. Some sick individuals may take a closed door as an invitation to do something bad!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well I am not facing the door so I don't mind!. My dentist does not actually have doors to the rooms!. Maybe tell his assistant that you'd like the door closed!. Sometimes that is easier than talking to the dentist!. Or your Mom could help!? Good luck and whatever makes you feel comfortable is the correct decision!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would be soooooooo uncomfortable if he left the door open & people were looking too! i think you should say; ''Can i please shut the door, i would feel a little more comfortable if it was closed over or shut cause people are looking in'' & then thats it! im sure he will say; ''Sure'' :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
He might just do it out of habit!. You need to let him know it makes you feel uncomfortable when its left open, or ask your mum to!. I'm sure he will have no problem with that :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
