My gums are swollen..?!
Question: My gums are swollen!.!.!?
part of my gums randomly swelled up about half an hour ago and they're bleeding!.
i had a cleaning at the dentist's office today and they said there are no signs of gingivitis or tartar or anything because i take good care of my teeth!.
i haven't brushed my teeth for bed yet, so it couldn't have been irritated by that!.

Cleanings can cause gums to swell!. That in itself is perfectly normal!. Did the hygienist or dentist mention anything out of the ordinary for you!? Did you eat something, chew gum or something to maybe further irritate an area to cause it to bleed!? If so, it should only bleed a minute or so!. If your mouth is tender you can take an over the counter pain reliever with anti-inflammatory properties like aleve or aspirin!. Tylenol does not help w/inflammation, so it wouldn't be a good choice in this case!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Some times when I eat something like nuts, that have those thin papery skins around them they get stuck between my teeth and gum line and make my gum area swell up!. One time I actually got a small particle under my gum line when I was flossing!. It pushed the particle upward and jammed it so far I couldn't get it out with the floss!. After three days of swollen, bleeding and painful gum irritation I finally got it out with floss!.
Try a water pick with warm water and a bit of listerine!. Aim toward the gum line and see if you can flush out what is irritating it!. If the dentist said it's nothing I think, personally, it's a particle left behind!. Try not to fuss with it and see if it goes down by itself!. It may just be irritated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
