Question: Braces tomorrow and FREAKING OUT!?
AAAAHH Im getting braces!!!! sooo nervous!. ok!. a few questions!.
1!. no needles right!? none at all!? i read in another question that needles were not involved!. is that right!?
2!. is it gonna make me gag!? i have very sensitive gag reflex!. when i got the mold of my teeth, that was horrible!. lets just say!.!.!.they were wiping up the floor :P
3!. im only getting braces because i have an overbite!. my teeth are pretty straight!. i heard that since theyre not giving me the braces to straighten my teeth it wont hurt as much!. is that true!?

okay first things first RELAX!
braces aren't that bad as people carry on about them!.
i've had them for 2 years now & have been through everything that you are about to tomorrow!.
okay so, when you go for your appoinment tomorrow,
what will happen is:
the orthodontist/s will ask you to lay in the chair ( like always ) & they will get four metal bands ( more or less depending on your teeth ) & they will press them down over your molars, ( the teeth that you chew with at the back ) and you will feel pressure but no pain!. & they don't give you any needles drills or anything to do this!.
then they will ask you what colours you want for your brackets ( the coloured squares that stick to your teeth ) & they will glue them down, the use a special purple light to set the glue so it goes hard!.
then they will put in the wires & it's all finished!.
( this takes about 45 minutes to do )!.
braces don't hurt at all to put on, they might feel a bit uncomfortable & when they glue on the brackets you might be left with a funny taste in your mouth but after you can rinse your mouth!. ( I had minty water ) it was pretty good!.
So remember, NO needles or drills!.
nothing at all!. that's because it's not painfull!.
Okay with the gaging thing, i'm sorry to say, but you'll have to go through this again!. they need to open up your whole mouth and they put this stuff up the top of your teeth to soak up the saliva, but don't worry it won't take long!. I also felt like that, & i nearly gagged aswell but the best thing is to concerntrait on your breathing!.
To your 3rd question!. I must say braces hurt for everyone who has them, but everyones different & different people have different teeth, but yes they will still hurt after you get them on, so eat before your appointment because you'll have trouble doing so after your appointment because your teeth will be hurting pretty bad ( like a tooth ache )!. use some tablets & the pain will go away within a week or so!.
Okay, some tips would be!. make sure you brush properly like they say, get in above the braces and below brushing the gums & tounge!.
Don't eat too much junk, but you can be a bit naughty it's alright!. LOL!. i eat pretty much whatever i like!.

3) I have to answer honestly - it will hurt the same!. Either way they will be applying pressure to your teeth, and your jaw won't be used to this so it'll hurt!. HOWEVER, it's only really sore for the first week or so - after that, you get used to it and you hardly feel them!. Just make sure to take advil or tylenol before you get the procedure done - trust me!.

Okay, it is sooooo not even that serious!. I've had braces twice, and it was so simple!. There are absolutely NO needles! There were no needles in my process!. It might make you gag, but the only thing that would make you gag would be the taste of the cement/glue!. Braces are going to hurt!. Period!. There is no need to be nervous, honey! i also had braces for an overbite & i don't mean to scare u but it still hurt pretty bad!.
my teeth were often sore after a tightening!.!.!.had to take Tylenol
it always helped
i also had to have 2 teeth pulled to correct the overbite so that wasn't very fun

are you getting a headgear!? HURTS LIKE CRAP!! sorry, dont mean to scare you!. braces hurt about a 6 or 7 on a scale of one to ten when i first got 'em!. they hurt less after a while!. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

2!. molding was the worst part for me so it should be okay
3!. it wont hurt as much since its not changing the movement of your teeth as if u had teeth that was going sideways (like me):D

Although it probably won't hurt much it is very uncomfortable!. In order to fix your overbite you will have the top ruber-banned with the bottom on each side which make it very difficult to open your mouth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well i was nervous and it is not that bad when they put them on it is like a little touch and it is not bad but like 2 or 3 hours after you will feel the pain lol!. well it gets better after a week or so i just got mine i think in mid september and on tuesday i am getting tads( tads are just a replacement for headgear :) my tummy was horrible before i went in but it is a peice of cake :)) GOOD LUCKWww@Answer-Health@Com
