Is it ok to ask for nitrous oxide for dental cleanings?!

Question: Is it ok to ask for nitrous oxide for dental cleanings!?
I was wondering if it's ok/common to ask for nitrous oxide for dental cleanings if you are nervous and have sensitive gums!. My hygienist says she prefers not to use it, but it is available at the practice and was offered to me by the receptionist when booking my next appointment so I said yes!. I feel a little guilty about this as she might think less of me at my next appointment because I am not 'toughing it out', though I also figure it's best to ask for what I think will help me rather than not go back and not get my gums back to good health!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can definitely ask for nitrous oxide during your cleaning!. The whole point that gas is offered is to make the patients feel more comfortable during cleanings and procedures so that the patients will be more likely to keep on top of their dental care and come back for cleanings every 6 months and procedures when needed and so there will be no fear of the dentist!. The hygienist will NOT think less of you because you asked for it!.!.!. good luck! cleanings are really no big deal ESPECIALLY if you have nitrous oxide!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Lots of dentists and hygienists offer gas for cleanings!. It's relatively harmless and it can help some nervous or sensitive victims, uh, I mean patients!. I have never had it but I've been offered it lots of times!. Don't feel guilty about it, the whole idea is to make it comfortable for you so you will come in for your cleanings ever six months and not put it off!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
