Question: If my dentist told me to not floss around my new crown!.!.!?
How in the hell do I get this chunk of something out of my tooth!? Its causing pain!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It may be that your dentist did not want you to floss around the tooth for a certain amount of time only after putting on a new crown!. Call your dentist to see if it is o!.k!. to floss around now!. In the meantime you can tie a knot in a piece of floss and put it through the two teeth!. Then moving the knot side to side in between the teeth should remove the chunk of something you describe!. The knot will push against the chunk of something and knock it out!. After just pull the floss out the side without pulling up on the new crown and you should be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi there,

I doubt that would be the case, unless it's a temporary crown in which case it may be delicate; or if it's only just been placed, in which case the cement may not have dried!. I'd recommend this method:

1) Use a long piece of "waxed" dental floss
2) Hold it taught and gentle wiggle it down in the space between your teeth where the food is trapped!.
3) Now instead release one end of the floss and pull it through completely!. (Don't pull the floss upwards back through the "contact point" to remove it, as this may dislodge the crown!.)
4) repeat if necessary!.
Don't use anything like an electric toothpick as this may crack the cement!.

Hope that helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

The only reason I can think of that he would tell you that, is because you could dislodge it when you pull the floss out!. What I did was flossed, but didn't pull the floss upward when I took it out, I slid the end of the floss out from between my teeth!. Call and ask if you can do that!. You'd think they'd tell you these things, but they don't always!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Get a waterpik!. Blast it out with a jet of water!.

Is that a permanent thing!? I floss around my crowns!. He actually told me to!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Stick with the dental student above!. If it doesn't work, you can sue him for malpractice!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
