Question: Does getting your teeth cleaned by the dentist , start to wear down your teeth after a few years !?
I get my teeth professionally cleaned by the dentist twice a year and that's what they recommend you do !. But now I'm starting to think it might be wearing down my teeth !. Would getting them cleaned only once a year be better than twice !?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
NO! Enamel is the hardest substance in your body, harder than bone!. Getting your teeth cleaned regularly is nothing but beneficial, it DOES NOT wear down your teeth!. Hygienists remove only plaque, tartar and stain, our tools cannot remove enamel!.

BTW, fluoride is perfectly safe, it does not harm your teeth, it strengthens them!. Only a child under the age of six that ingests an abundance of fluoride can have mottling and discoloration of the permanent teeth, because until that age the teeth are still forming!. Even then the teeth may not look good, but they are healthy!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Visiting the dentist shouldn't wear your teeth down, but a lot of dentists use fluoride which may have a negative affect on your teeth!. When i visit the dentist I ask for them not to use anything involving fluoride and they say that's fine as they know that it can have negative after effects for some people!.

So my advice to you would be that you keep up your twice a year dentist check up routine but just ask for no fluoride!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

By right if your dentist did a good and job, your teeth should not wear off!. I would not recommend you clean your teeth once a year as it will built up alot of stains as well as calcium and might attract bacteria to attack your teeth or gum!. If you clean you teeth properly everyday, instead of visiting the dentist every 6 months, I suggest you do it every 8 months!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I actually wondered that myself!. Since having them cleaned by the hygienist recently, they are all sensitive!. Now I have to use a sensitive toothpaste!. I never had that problem before :(Www@Answer-Health@Com

i don't know about that, but the way they dig and gouge around i've wondered if they're actually damaging my teeth!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
