How does zoom whitening work!? What other options are available from a dentist!? What price range would I be looking it!? What are the best at-home products, and do they even compare to having it done professionally!? Personal experiences or professional opinions are appreciated, but everyone is free to comment! Professional whitening does work the best!. There are basically 2 options!. Zoom whitening or in-office bleacing and the second option is custom take home trays!. Both methods should be supervised by a dentist in order to get the best results and be in the dentists' office where the dentist can minimize sensitvity and help mitigate any problems!. All whitening can make the teeth sensitive, but zoom whitening does more so than other methods!. The light shining on the teeth dehydrates the teeth making them sensitve but it also makes them lighter but there is greater rebound from zoom whitening than with take home whitening trays!. The take home trays take longer for the teeth to get whiter but the teeth whiteing will be more stable over time and take more time to fade!.
I recommend all of my patients to brush only with sensitivity toothpate (such as sensodyne) for atleast 2 weeks before beginning whitening to reduce sensitvity!. I also have desensitizing solutions in my office to help!.
The at home products are average, I wouldn't waste my money on any of them except for the Crest Whitestrips!. If you try custom home trays you won't like the whitestrips!. I've seen some "burning gums" from the stips and they aren't as strong, so they take longer, you may need 3 or 4 boxes!.
Prices!.!.!. most dentists charge 400-500 for bleaching with the in-office method with a combination of take home trays!. 250 for take home trays only!. I give all my new patients free custom take home trays and bleach as a thank you for being a patient they also get free refills of bleach at every cleaning!. But that is rare!.
Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ok, the zoom whitening is where you go to a dentist and they put bleach on your teeth and you sit under a light to whiten!. Takes about an hour and costs about $500 - $600!. It gets your teeth blindingly white and fast! A dentist that uses the at home whitening system will make you a custom set of mouth trays (like the Invisalign braces) clear plastic trays that you have made from a mold of your teeth and give you bleach syringes!. In about 10 days of at home use, your teeth will be white! Maybe not as white as the Zoom though!. I am currently using the at home bleaching from my dentist and after about 5 uses, i am noticing a huge difference!. Some people, me included, think the Zoom effects are not realistically white - in other words - TOO WHITE!. As far as at home, probably the white strips you buy at the store are the best bet!. They are certainly cheaper than the others but the whitening isn't as white and the effects don't last as long!. All of this depends on how much you want to spend and how not white your teeth are!. Word of caution for all kinds of teeth bleaching - the bleach can and probably will irritate your gums/teeth!. I have sensitive teeth and my teeth will actually ache a bit afterwards!. They are very sensitive to cold and air right now!. I am told this will correct after bleaching but please beware and good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Zoom whitening if for most seriously stained teeth and is generally more expensive than getting your dentist to make a tray and buy the whitening gels over and over as needed!. Also it is something you would have to pay full price for each time you want to do it instead of the other professional alternative where once you have the trays all you have to do is buy more peroxide gel from the dentist for like $50!. Cost is relative because each dentist can charge whatever they want to and it would depend on the region and what the market would bear!. Also depends on whether the dentist only just bought the Zoom equipment and is still recooping costs or has had it for a while and really doesnt need to charge as much!. Call around to find out what the norm is in your area but note that if its not your regular dentist they will require you to do a new patient exam and a cleaning before they would proceed with ANYTHING further!. How does it work!? They put you in a chair, cover your teeth with a gel and they basically zap your mouth with an extreme light to cause your teeth to whiten!. For specifics: http://www!.zoomnow!.com/about!.php The cost at the office I used to work at was $350 Canadian!. Zoom whitening also cause EXTREME sensitivity in the person for a few days!.!. EXTREME!. Best at home products!.!. well if you only have slight staining its a good place to start as it is much cheaper and much less painful and many people are very satified with their results!. Personally I like whitening with professionally made whitening trays and professional whiteing gels!. Cost again does vary but is much cheaper to do and you can control the process yourself and touch up whenever you want for little cost!. Also Zoom can have uneven results or well at least it did on the two coworkers in my office that used it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
