Question: Help!? im confused with my braces!.!?
ive had my top braces on for over a year and a half!.!. they are perfectly straight and fine!.!.!. i didnt get my bottom braces on yet because i had to wear a biteplate for a few months!. im getting my bottom braces February 10!. so i asked them if i could get my top braces off and the bottom ones on!. they said "they have to come off together" and i dont get why!. help please! im totally ready for my top to come off!. ugh! my top teeth were ALWAYS perfect & straight but they put the braces on anyway!.10 points to first best answer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think I have the same situation as you!. My top teeth were straight, but the bottoms were crooked and I had an overbite!. I have had my braces for 10 months!. It's best to correct the overbite!. When you have a deep bite - many times your bottom front teeth will hit the back of your top front teeth when you bite together!. This can cause wear/chipping/breaking on your teeth!. I am 33 years old and was already seeing some wear on my teeth!. It scared me into getting braces because I am a dental professional and have seen patients with teeth that are worn down almost as far as the gumline!
And I think Chrissy was probably right about the elastics thing - you will probably have to wear them as part of your treatment!.
Also - Stephy A was right, too!. The braces have to be on top and bottom to get your bite corrected!.

I had the same problem only the bottom one where straight and the top need braces but the orthodontist put them on the top and bottom the reason they gave me is that both have to have braces that way your bite doesn't get messed up so i guess if they take off the top it might shift or something!. Basically their professionals and they know what their doing so your just going to have to bare with itWww@Answer-Health@Com
The reason why is because if they take the top brackets off, then put bottom braces on the top teeth may get crocked!. Then you will have to get braces again!. I have top and bottom braces and I have to wear them for about an other year!. Ask your dentist about your question!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Because you may need to wear elastics to correct an over bite and you would need the top and bottom to attach the elastics!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Same thing with me but I got mine together!. my top teeth are perfectly straight but they are just trying to fix your bite so your teeth will be perfect and straight!. you just have to be patient because when you get them off they will be beautiful!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
