Gum infection after extracted tooth?!

Question: Gum infection after extracted tooth!?
I had my tooth removed last week (last one in lower left jaw)!. It seems to be healing fine but I am concerned whether the gum in that area is infected!. There has been a layer of something yellow over the gum for the last few days!. It does not hurt at all and the hole is healing fine too but I'm just not sure if the yellow/whitish thing is part of the healing process or not!. Like i said, there is not pain/bleeding or anything else!. Any ideas!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well it always helps to rinse your mouth with saltwater after you have a tooth extracted, but give your dentist a call and ask about that just to be safe and make sure it's nothing serious!.

Normally though, if it was an infection you would experience some pain and very bad breathWww@Answer-Health@Com

as long as it isnt sore or anything you should be fine, most of the whitish stuff is just the layers of your gums healing up, the same thing happens when you get your wisdom teeth out, its basically a wet scab haha

just try not to mess with it too much, and follow whatever stuff the surgeon told you too and you will be fineWww@Answer-Health@Com

When you brush your teeth, you should brush the gum in that area!.!.!.does that layer come off!?

Also, gargle with warm salt water several times today, it may sting, but it will help!.

Call your dentist office tomorrow a!.m!. They will tell you if they need to see you, they may need to put you on some antibiotics!Www@Answer-Health@Com

well i didn't know i had an infection either until the dentist told me when i went in for him to look at my wisdom teeth!.!. you may need to call him and see waht he thinks!.!. the only way to cure the infection is anti biotics!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like the skin is starting to heal over!. That funny look should go away after awhile!. Keep it clean, as long as there is no pain I wouldn't be worried!. I have had 8 teeth pulled!. It sounds normal to me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try using a ineffective mouth wash with baking soda because the expencive ones never really workWww@Answer-Health@Com
