Yes it is, it will wear down your enamel (the outer layering of your tooth) and can cause sensitivity!. When your enamel weakens it can make your prone to more cavities!. But then on the other hand some people can do it for a lifetime & have no problems! Hope this helps!.!.!. happy ice chewing :-pWww@Answer-Health@Com

I was do the same!. One morning after chewing ice the night before I noticed half my molar was gone!. I had no idea I had broken a tooth!. I went to the dentist first thing Monday, at first the dentist thought it was decay!. Turns out no decay at all!. Good healthy tooth!. Denist said that chewing ice caused cracks in my tooth and eventually it broke apart!. There was no pain, I had no idea!. Full x rays!. no cavities no decay on any teeth!. (I have never had a cavity before) Now I have a Gold Cap Molar that is a little sensitive to cold (ice) and feels strange!. Needless to say, as much as I enjoy it, I don't want anymore gold teeth, no more ice chewing for me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it is definitely bad for your teeth!. what it does is to create microscopic cracks in your teeth so tiny that you cannot see and eventually cause an abscess which may call for a root canal or a crown depending on how bad the damage is!. so my advice as a dental assistant is to chew little or no ice to save your teeth from unnecessary expenses!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I believe you do this to further strengthen your teeth but too much cold can also lead to gum problems!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, but I heard it meant you might be low on iron!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
