Am I crazy for getting my wisdom teeth out with only Novocaine (no sedation)?!

Question: Am I crazy for getting my wisdom teeth out with only Novocaine (no sedation)!?
It's only the top two and one is already partially through!. I don't have dental insurance and don't want to pay for sedation!. Also, I have never been sedated and really don't like the idea!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
an oral surgeon WILL usually always suggest sedation over local anthesia because its definitely easier for them!. it isn't required & you're not crazy! if you are then so am i! i just had 24 (including 3 wisdoms) with only local, also had the other wisdom removed a few yrs prior with local!. all were already erupted & i had seen this dentist for 7 yrs so i was completely comfortable with him & his abilities!. i could've paid more to have been put to sleep but you never know if there will be complications with or without anethesia!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Getting sedated is the best part! And its a very bad idea, because to remove the wisdom teeth its a surgical process where they have to cut into your gums and cut out the teeth!.!.!.very painful!. Even after the local anesthetic wears off it is painful, which is why they give you legit painkillers like vicodin!.!.!.I would talk to your doctor about it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You will want to be sedated!. It is surgery!. They will cut open your gum's, break the teeth, then pull them out!. It is very light sedation, you will feel nothing, because they will also numb you!. But if I were you, ask if you can make payments, and get the sedation!.

Be careful not to get a dry socket!.

No, if you have any pain tolerance at all, you should be able to handle it!. Just think of the money you won't be spending!. I've had 2 of mine extracted with only local anesthesia!. The worst pain is the next day usually!.!.!.whether or not you 'went under' won't matter!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no - in the uk most people have teeth out without sedation, i watched my partner have a tooth out earlier this year just with local anaesthetic, it was a tricky pull but all he felt was the tugging

you'll be fineWww@Answer-Health@Com
