How much will getting my braces off affect my trumpet playing?!

Question: How much will getting my braces off affect my trumpet playing!?
This is a huge deal for me, because I play first part and I'm 2nd chair!. (I would have been first chair but the other girl beat me by practicing more, but we're about the same range and ability) Next year there will be no senior trumpets, just one junior trumpet but he's not a first part and he probably won't be next year!. So the whole trumpet section is going to be 3 sophmores and one junior next year, and MAYBE one 8th grader (we let 8th graders in the band when we're short on an instrument)!. Marching season starts around August!. I'm supposed to get my braces off in 4 months!. Our band director is going to give us harder music because our section is very good with range and ability, we can play anything really!.

But I'm gonna get my braces off in July or August, right before marching season starts!. I was soloist for the marching show last marching season, and there's a big chance I might be next marching season!. I don't want to sound like crap after I get them off!. A lot of people are depending on our section, especially the first parts!. And it stinks to not have any seniors to play next year!!!

Has anyone had this experience!? How long will it take me to get back to my normal playing!? I'm freaking out lol!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Don't worry, you can do it!

I think it depends on how long it took for you to get used to playing WITH braces, and then it will probably take you about that long to remember how to play WITHOUT!

You should be able to get back to normal soon after, anyway!.

Good Luck with your auditions and preparations!Www@Answer-Health@Com
