there are 3 types of whitening techniques !.
In office -[zoom] this is about $100 -$200 depending on the office, it takes about an hr 1/2 and it is recommended as the better option , up to 7 shades lighter !.However the over the counter one is not much of a difference
Over the Counter - such as the whitening strips , its works but the results are about 3-5 shades lighter , cost of around 35$ - 50$
Bleaching system - i am now startin to use this system which i got from my dental school and i love it , i can even feel the tingling effect from the tooth paste and from that alone my teeth seems a little lighter , it comes in syringes but u have to get a dentist to make u a bleaching tray and put it on overnight!.!. It is about $60 + !. It called opalescence !.www!.opalescence!.com
Gosmile is another one u apply to the teeth and comes with a whitening toothpaste , this brand is kind of pricey but the produts are more flavored and its works!. You can find it at www!.ulta!.com or the store Ulta !.[which is kind of like a sephora]

I'm pretty sure how much professional whitening costs depends on where you live!. In most places in PA it is about $300!. I looked into it before my wedding and decided against it based on my dentist's recommendation!. He said the Crest whitestrips are exactly the same thing as the whitening agent in zoom (professional whitening) and they are much cheaper!. He also pointed out that, just like the whitestrips, it wears off and has to be repeated!. So in his opinion, it is better to save yourself some money and invest the time in the whitestrips!. I used two boxes over the course of 3 months and noticed a difference of about 3 shades!. I would assume if your teeth aren't that bad you won't notice such a dramatic change!. If you find the right dentist, he will give you a whitening kit (for as long as you continue to see him/her) after you get your teeth cleaned!. Mine does!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
