I'm 22 and I was sooooo scared to go but last week I got an excruciating toothache and had to get help!. Do this: pinch yourself; that's what it feels like when they deaden the gums!. Now, place your finger on your forearm and push down; that's what it feels like when they're getting the tooth out!.!.!.just pressure!. BTW your face will get numb on the side where they deaden it and it feels soooooo cool because you can look in the mirror and see that you're smiling but you can't feel yourself smiling!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Dental work is a lot less painful these days than it used to be!. Tell the dentist how frightened you are and he will be especially gentle!. The thing I used to worry about the most was the novicane injection, but they even have a topical anesthetic they put on your gums so you don't even feel the needle!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The best thing, honestly, is just to go!. A lot of times, fear is the worst thing about being scared! You may find that you were afraid of nothing after all!.
I havent been to the dentist in 8 years until about a month ago, and I can honestly say that I am no longer afraid, and would go at this minute if needed!. If you are afraid of the needle injection, try to find a dentist that uses "The Wand" ( google it for information)!. It is a pain free injection, and part of the reason my fear is gone!
Good luck to you!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just go!. An hour or two of pain from the dentist working on your tooth is far much better than the pain caused from a rotten tooth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
