A bit scared about getting braces..?!

It takes maybe an hour or so. It doesn't hurt at all when they put them on, but for about a week after you get them on, they hurt like crazy and all you can eat is soft food. But after the pain goes away, you will get used to them.

i had braces for around 2 years and it was fine its really nothing to worry about
im not entirely sure what you mean by spacers but basically when they fix the braces on your teeth its just glue and then the metal is placed on the the glue to set it on
i dont remember how long it took exactly but its probably 30-45 mins
it doesnt hurt at all the when the braces are fixed on they will make your mouth feel a bit heavy but you'll get used to it after a day or two
i wouldnt listen to music as the dentist will probably talk you through whats happening!
no injections are needed either
hopefully this will put your mind at rest but honestly its nothing to be scared about because at the end of it you will have lovely teeth!!

There's really nothing at all to worry about! I was 11 when I got my braces, and I was so freaked out beforehand, but afterwards, it wasn't that bad at all. To put on the braces, they just glue the brackets to your teeth, and then put the wires through them, and tighten them. It doesn't take long at all to do that. The process of getting the braces put on does not hurt AT ALL, I swear to you it is completely painless.I wouldn't listen to your iPod while the ortho is putting them on. Reason being, he/she will be talking to you while putting them on, talking you through it. And he/she'll be giving you instructions on what to do. So you have to be able to hear them. They didn't give me a shot, so I doubt they'll give you one. They may though! The spacers question, I don't know. I didn't have spacers. D;

How long does it take? less than half an hour.
How much does it hurt? Not very much, it does hurt a little bit....but mostly after wards.
Can I listen to my iPod while they do it? depends but you should be able to but to be less scared the dentist will talk you through the event so you probably won't need to listen to music
Do I need a shot? No shots

Well my brother got braces on wednesday and he is 12 to. lol thats scary. Its ok if your scared its ok my brother says its fine. And you may ask the lady if you can listen to your ipod. Dont be scared. Good luck!

well i wouldnt be too scared, honestly its not that bad. your lips get chapped, so bring lip balm. and things just get really DRY, never really painful tho
