Lost my retainer by my dog a few months ago, trying to figure out what to do wit!

Question: Lost my retainer by my dog a few months ago, trying to figure out what to do with my teeth!...?
I had braces for about four years, and my teeth were pretty much perfectly straight. My dog chewed it up and I figured, "oh, it'll be fine". Now my teeth are getting to the point where they were before but there is no way in hell I am getting braces again and I'm not throwing thousands out of my pocket for invisalign. Not sure if I should tell my dentist/orthadontist or what... please help.

get a really good gum sheild or something and wear it at night? or look on the internet?

Oh, it'll be fine = losing a lot of money and having your teeth revert to their original position. Go back to your orthodontist. You will just have to hope your teeth haven't shifted too much

I am a dentist

Should've contacted your orthodontist right away. I had to have mine replaced after not wearing them for 6 months and my teeth weren't as good. For me it cost $60 for each (reduced cost because I still had the old ones).

Are your dogs teeth really really straight now?
