It's not that bad, people exaggerate. It's certainly not comfortable, but the worst part is having your mouth wide open for so long. The needles sort of hurt, but that's the quickest part. Don't worry about it, there are worse things in this world.
eh you get over it. Its not too bad I think the time I got accidentally got tasered, was probably the worst pain I had. But to answer your question the root canal itself doesn't hurt they use anesthesia and that numbs you down but its afterwords you get the pain and it aches for a couple days, though its not too bad, you'll get over it, you can also take a motrin or any ibuprofen to relive the pain.
Having root canal done does hurt and it is not a surgery. The shot stings a little for few seconds and then you do not feel anything as the whole area around the tooth is numb. You may not even need a root canal if the tooth does not hurt, you may get a big filling in it or may need a crown, depends which tooth it is. Either way you will not feel any pain. You may have some pain after it is done so just take a pain reliever.
I am not sure why people say it is the worst pain that they have ever felt...as long as you are properly numb, it shouldn't be a problem. I just had my first root canal today and it went great. No pain whatsoever. The only bad part was getting numbed up. The first injection is usually the worst but after that, you should be fine. But considering that you had a filling, you already know how getting numbed up feels. So no worries! Everything will be fine if you have to get a root canal :)
Myself; just had first root canal today
Both my daughter and I had root canals. Neither one of us felt any pain at all. We didn't feel the injections either. It will be okay.
