It depends. They are two very different career fields. Have you even began college? Do you have a Bachelor's degree already? If you haven't started college then it's going to be quicker to become a hygienist. It's generally 2 years of prerequisites and 2 years of Hygiene school. In most major cities you make $40+ an hour.
