I've never heard that and I highly doubt it's anywhere near as bad as smoking is. Sunflower seeds are salty, so it can make your tongue feel a little raw if you eat too many. Smoking can give you oral cancer-and cancer in other body parts in general.

I highly doubt it. Kids wouldn't be allowed to have them if they were anywhere near as bad as smoking.
