Im gonna get all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled in 4 days and i am EXTREMELY NERVOU!

Question: Im gonna get all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled in 4 days and i am EXTREMELY NERVOUS!?
In 4 days i am going to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled. I had braces for 2 years and a couple months ago i got them removed, a couple months later my teeth started pushing inwards and my orthodontist said it because of my wisdom teeth and i have to get them removed. I HATE going to the dentist and hate feeling pain in my mouth, and this is my first surgery from a dentist. I just have a couple concerns, my doctor said that i will be put to sleep but if they tell me to open my mouth ill open it, i don't get it cause if i'm asleep how would i be able to react? Will there be any pain after the surgery? Please i really want to know what im getting into. Any other information will be GREATLY appreciated.

You get to be put to sleep... Lucky, if I say so myself. All my dentist did was numb me and I was awake for the whole procedure. Let me tell you, you have the easy way out of this surgery.

To be honest, pain after the surgery MIGHT vary with different people. Why? Because after the surgery and the numbness went away, I didn't feel all that much pain. Sure there was pain, but all I did was take some Tylenol and it went away. Even two days after my surgery, I still don't feel pain, well, except for the minor pain that's more of an annoyance. And after the surgery, you'll get some annoying swelling going on. Just be calm, I'm sure the surgery will be over before you know it - mine ended quite quickly, to my surprise! And you'll be happy that you went through the whole thing. :)

Got 4 wisdom teeth removed on Saturday.

I was put out to have all four of my wisdom teeth removed as well. Unfortunately, yes there will be pain afterwards. It's very uncomfortable and you will be very swollen. You may not be bruised at first, but as the days pass you might notice it coming. I don't mean to scare you, just want you to be prepared! Just remember - it will not last forever! It's only temporary!

It's not "sleeping" but more of a concious sedation. You'll will be technically awake but so sedated you have no idea what just happened. If you were actually "put to sleep" a tube would be down your throat to breathe, and they can't do that if they're working in your mouth! I had that, you'll do awesome!! It's a great thing to have for wisdom teeth removal!!
